Lassen is currently 7-3-1 having played Pleasant Valley (Chico, CA) T 14-14, Enterprise (Redding, CA) L 6-9, Paradise (CA) L 0-22, Fernley (NV) W 44-7, Eureka (CA) W 46-6, Yreka (CA) W 20-7, West Valley (Cottonwood, CA) W 53-0, Corning (CA) W 19-18, Central Valley (Shasta Lake, CA) W 42-7, Anderson (CA) L 14-28 and in a rematch of a regular season loss beat Enterprise (Redding, CA) W 28-21 in the Northern Section CIF playoff's 1st round.

  

The Lassen Defense allows a very good 12.6 points per game (with 13 fumble recoveries), while their offense scores 26 points.  They have 369 runs for 2762 yards (7.49 avg.) 29 Td's & 60 completions in 104 attempts (57.7%) for 954 yards 5 Int's 10 Td's.  They are a running team by nature. This is their 2nd year in a row for the playoffs.

 

Last year these two teams played in the Eastern League with Foothill winning 35-12.  Foothill had 40 runs for 435 yards & 4 completions in 7 attempts for 48 yards.  Lassen had 33 runs for 91 yards & 19 completions in 37 attempts for 195 yards 1 Int 1 TD

 

Foothill is currently 10-0 (Bye in the 1st round) having played Anderson (CA) W 25-13, West Valley (Cottonwood, CA) W 28-7, Central Valley (Shasta Lake, CA) W 48-12, Enterprise (Redding, CA) W 40-24, Chico (CA) (Cal State Chico) W 33-18, Paradise (CA) W 29-28, Oroville (CA) W 44-14, Shasta (Redding, CA) W 42-12, Pleasant Valley (Chico, CA) W 33-18 and Red Bluff (CA) W 49-0.

 

The Foothill Defense allows 14.6 points per game (28 total Sacks & 16 Int's), while the Offense scores 37.1 per game.  Foothill has 397 runs for 3353 yards (8.45 avg.) 41 TD's & 39 completions in 58 attempts (67.2%) for 638 yards 3 Int's 10 TD's.  They are in the Playoff for the 2nd year in a row.

My Final Thoughts: 

 

Both teams are big time run programs and if you like watching running backs do their thing this is the game.  There is extra incentive because last year these teams were in the same league and are familiar with each other.  The Foothill line is bigger and could end up wearing Lassen down over 4 quarters.  You need to get there fast for this game since none of these runners will run out of bounds, the clock will be moving all night long.  Have fun at this one.
