Mater Dei's Defense allows an excellent 11.4 points per game (with 54 pass defenses), therefore their offense needs to score just 2 TD's to win.  Their Offense scores 23.6 points per game against tough competition but is close enough to see the possibility of the two losses.  Offensively they have 300 runs for 1499 yards (5.0 avg.) 20 TD's & 82 completions in 138 attempts (59.4%) for 1373 (9.94 yards per throw) yards 4 Int's 12 TD's.  This is a run team that will throw very efficiently to keep 8 out of the box.

Pittsburg (CA) W 28-20, Mira Mesa (San Diego, CA) W 13-6, Millikan (Long Beach, CA) W 60-7, Wilson (Long Beach, CA) W 35-8, Cabrillo (Long Beach, CA) W 55-0, Compton (CA) W 20-3, Jordan (Long Beach, CA) W 58-0 and Lakewood (CA) W 35-9.

My Final Thoughts:

Well this is not good luck for either of these teams to draw each other in the 1st round, but the fans benefit by being able to see the playoffs start at full speed.  These two lines are massive.  These two teams can run the ball as good as anyone, but the difference is both teams can also throw the ball efficiently.  Mater Dei faces a defense that plays the pass well and swarms to the ball.  LB Poly has to move the ball against a defense that is disciplined and athletic.  Wow!  What a game to enjoy at Veteran's Stadium.
