Central Cali RB Talks Recruiting

Visalia (Calif.) El Diamante RB Stefphon Jefferson is a sleeper for 2009. The Miners entire offensive line returns this year, giving him a shot to rush for 2,000 yards. He had a solid showing at the Stanford Nike Camp, but he missed other camps because of passing league commitments. We caught up with him at this past weekend's Redwood passing tourney to talk about his recruitment...

Stefphon Jefferson (5-11, 195) rushed for over 600 yards last season in a backup role. He played FB as well as RB, but he will be the main rushing threat for the Miners this season. He has excellent size, speed, agility, and hands. While he can play FB, everyone is recruiting him as a RB.

Jefferson says Texas A&M, Duke, Boise State, and Cal Poly are recruiting him the hardest. He hopes to take a few unofficial visits before the summer is over, notably to College Station. He remains open with Fresno State, BYU, Miami (OH), and Hawaii also showing interest.

With passing league over, he is focused on the Skills Camp at College of Sequoias in early August. We caught up with at the Redwood Passing Tournament this past Saturday in Visalia. Watch his interview and highlights from the passing tourney…
