Central Cali Skills Camp

The College of the Sequoias football program will be holding its first skills camp for high school football players this Saturday, August 2 at Mineral King Bowl in Visalia, California. The basis of the camp is for athletes to get a chance to be tested in several football-related skills and to show off their abilities. The camp is for all high school football players, including incoming freshmen.

COS head football coach Curtis Allen and COS DB Coach Tony Perry are coordinating the camp. Perry is the former long-time DB Coach at Fresno (Calif.) Edison. Between the two coaches, they have sent numerous players to DI universities such Arizona, Arizona State, California, Fresno State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Missouri, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, and Washington State among others.

Players from Central Cali expected to attend include Fresno (Calif.) McLane S Marte Sears, Visalia (Calif.) Mt. Whitney RB Ben Bowen, and Corcoran (Calif.) RB/LB Brant Botill. Moreover, rising prospect C.J. Anderson from Vallejo (Calif.) Bethel will be one of the players from Northern California expected to attend.

Athletes will be tested in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, and shuttle. They will also compete in one-on-one drills based on the positions they play.

Wish to Attend

The first College of the Sequoias football skills camp will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Giant Chevrolet-Cadillac Mineral King Bowl. Registration starts at 8 a.m. Fee is $40 per athlete.

Athletes should take cleats and an extra pair of shoes for the track. Fans are encouraged to attend and watch from the stands.
