California 2009 Final Rankings: DLs

Corona Centennial defensive tackle Will Sutton and Los Angeles Jordan defensive end James Boyd top the list of the top defensive linemen in the Golden State in the class of 2009...

The tackle depth wasn't as deep as in years past, but Sutton is California's finest.  Meanwhile, Boyd heads the list of Golden State natives on the edge.

Defensive Tackles

1. Will Sutton, Corona (Calif.) Centennial- Arizona State
The best defensive tackle in California, had a dominant performance in the Huskies' state championship season.

2. Edward Nuckols, San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills- Colorado
Extremely athletic for his size, also plays fullback for the Grizzlies.

3. Justin Brown, Compton (Calif.)
The anchor of the Tarbabes defensive lineman, he emerged as a senior.

4. Sione Tuihalamaka, Gardena (Calif.) Serra- Arizona
Will join his brother, Apai, in the desert after a big senior year

5. Justin Clayton, Napa (Calif.) Justin Siena- Washington State
Was one of the top defensive linemen in the Sac-Joaquin Section.

Defensive Ends

1. James Boyd, Los Angeles (Calif.) Jordan- USC
Elite athlete, threw for over 4,000 yards as a quarterback, but it's at defensive end where his future is.

2. Kevin Greene, San Francisco (Calif.) Sacred Heart Cathedral- USC
Best football days are still ahead for this former basketball star.

3. Iuta Tepa, Long Beach (Calif.) Poly- UCLA
All-state selection was the anchor of the Jackrabbits defense.

4. Anthony Anderson, La Mesa (Calif.) Helix- Oregon
Sometimes overshadowed by other teammates, still just scratching the surface of his talent.

4. Nicholas Alexander, Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw- Boise State
Has played a lot of offensive line but grandson of NFL Hall of Famer Carl Eller is going to be a force off the edge.
