Los Angeles Football Festival Set for Weekend

The inaugural Los Angeles Football Festival produced by DeBartolo Sports University will take place this coming weekend of February 6-8 at Citrus College and will draw more than 400 young hopefuls locally, as well as regionally, to learn the top techniques from the pros. The Festival features three days of football including a QB & WR Skills Challenge, Linemen Skills Challenge, Free Coaches Clinic for youth and high school coaches, Super 7 QB & WR Academy designed by Steve Clarkson and Jerry Rice, Lineman Academy designed by NFL players and coaches and an Underclassmen Showcase.

DeBartolo Sports University is considered by NFL, collegiate and high school athletes to be one of the most influential football development programs in the sport. DeBartolo Sports University teaches young aspiring athletes the skills for college football, and ultimately the pros. The President of DeBartolo Sports University is Steve Clarkson, who is responsible for training such athletes as Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Cassel, Matt Leinart, JP Losman, and Jimmy Clausen.

In addition to our coaching staff made up of former NFL and collegiate coaches and players, DeBartolo Sports University is bringing in the National Collegiate Scouting Association to educate athletes and parents about the recruiting process. Coach Bob Chmiel, former University of Michigan recruiting coordinator will be on hand from the National Collegiate Scouting Association to speak with the athletes and parents.

DeBartolo Sports University features a board that includes NFL Hall of Famer Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and Eddie DeBartolo, former owner of the San Francisco 49ers who led his team to five Super Bowl victories. The board assists in the creation of the developmental curriculum as well as performing as mentors and guest coaches at select Academies.
