Tebow Treasures Time in Gainesville

Florida legend Tim Tebow talked about his time at Florida and the future...

Former Florida Gator great Tim Tebow was in Miami promoting a new series of drinks from Gatorade called the G-Series. These three different drinks are designed to help athletes before, during and after workouts.

"These drinks are made to help us reach a peak performance during our workouts," said Tebow. "They put us through a performance lab, measured our body fat and mass just to see how the G-Series will help us improve our performance. I really enjoyed the whole process."

Tebow is just coming back from the Senior Bowl where he spent a week practicing and playing before NFL scouts and coaches. He said he learned a lot even though at the beginning he struggled but improved throughout the week.

"It was a good experience. I had a chance to learn some new things and also see what I need to work on to improve before the NFL draft," Tebow said.

Tebow spent his college career running the spread option. There are many opinions on how he would be used in the NFL or what might be the perfect scenario.

"I don't know if there is a perfect scenario. I'm just going to work hard and try to prove myself," said Tebow. "I'm going to focus on working under center and work on the things I need to improve on from the Senior Bowl."

Many consider Tebow one of the greatest college quarterbacks of all-time yet he has many critics. From former NFL quarterbacks to potential future NFL teammates, it seems as if everyone has an opinion of him. With his television commercial schedule to premiere during the Super Bowl, once again more pundits have another reason to give their advice. For an athlete that has displayed nothing but high character, you have to wonder how he handles such negativity.

"All I do is try to rise above it. These are the same things I have heard through high school too," said Tebow. "I don't worry about those things. My work ethic will win out."

In regards to the Super Bowl ad Tebow said, "There has been so much talk about it. I just hope they watch it."

University of Florida's 2010 class was rated the number one by many websites including scout.com. There are so many reasons why a football player would want to spend their four years playing in Gainesville.

"It was easy for me because it is a great program. When I met Coach (Urban) Meyer I just knew I wanted to play for him," said Tebow.

Tebow is leaving behind a special relationship he had with his head coach and his fans. "I loved playing for Coach (Urban) Meyer. He was more than a coach to me," said Tebow. "I just loved playing in the Swamp. There is nothing like it and the fans make it a very special place!"
