Q: Codey, how did it feel signing the LOI?
A: It felt great, but also I felt nervous and scared because this is the start of my career!
Q: It has to be a great honor to have been recruited by a university that is so rich in American Indian heritage and with a football tradition dating back to the early 1900's. What role this play on you committing to Haskell University?
A: Being a NEZ PERCE INDIAN I will be the first from my tribe to attend Haskell and the first from my tribe to start at RB for a four-year university. I also will have a great opportunity to learn more about my heritage.
Q: Tell me about meeting Haskell's Football Coach Eric Brock?
A: At first, I did not know what to expect but after spending time with Coach Brock on my visit, I knew he would take good care of me on and off the field.
Q: It is my opinion that you were the best RB in Shasta County and the surrounding areas last season, you demonstrated that every time you were given the ball. What do you expect on your first season at the college level?
A: Being a freshman at a four year university I will have to work twice as hard as everyone else to earn my spot, and gain respect from my team and in return help them win a national championship. The last thing Coach Brock said, it was that he believes I can break records and help win a national championship and go down as a legend in Haskell history.
I have seen Codey played football; I have always appreciated his great talent, respect and dedication he has shown to his schoolwork, community, teammates and family. I hope this talented and gifted young man continues his success at the next level. Based on Coach Brock's football background and experience, I am sure he knows what a jewel of a player he has in Ellenwood. Best of luck Codey!!!
