West Recruiting Notebook: AIGA Memorial 7on7

Scout.com gives you the latest recruiting updates from out West from the AIGA Memorial 7on7 and Big Man Challenge in Los Angeles this past weekend...

There was a good number of prospects in the 2011 and 2012 classes at the AIGA Memorial 7on7 and Big Man Challenge at Serra HS on Saturday.

Here are some of the recruiting notes, updates and new offers that we heard of in Los Angeles.

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco receiver Bryce Treggs is one of the elite receiver prospects in the West in the 2012 class, and he already has verbal offers from Arizona State and Stanford.  Expect California to join that list soon, as the Bears have been by the St. John Bosco campus.  Treggs' father, Brian, is one of the all-time leading receivers in Cal history, a former great with the Bears from 1988-1991.

Lakewood (Calif.) receiver Malik Gilmore, another stellar 2012 prospect, is still waiting for his first verbal offer, but Washington, UCLA, Colorado and Miami have all been showing interest in him.  Gilmore is coming off a knee injury his sophomore year, but the feedback he's been getting is a strong start to his junior year should open him up to more offers.

His Lakewood teammate, 2011 offensive tackle Torian White, got his first offer, from Washington State, and is also hearing from Oregon, Miami, Arizona, USC, Cal and UCLA.  Wright missed most of his junior year with a sports hernia, so most schools are telling him they want to watch some senior film.

San Diego (Calif.) Rancho Bernardo linebacker Aaron Wallace still has just two offers, from Washington and Texas A&M, but UCLA, USC, Washington, Oregon and Fresno State all came by the campus in the last couple weeks.  Wallace is leaving for the Lone Star State this coming week to camp at Texas A&M, where his father played, and will also camp at USC and UCLA.

Henderson (Nev.) Liberty defensive end Sam Tai is up to five offers, from San Diego State, Wyoming, Idaho, UNLV and Southern Utah.  He's also planning to camp at UCLA and Washington and will unofficially visit Arizona and Arizona State.

Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola quarterback Jerry Neuheisel has one offer, from UCLA, and he said he's a strong lean to the Bruins, where his dad is the head coach.  But he's also hearing from Idaho, UNLV, Oregon State and Illinois have also expressed interest in him.

Beverly Hills (Calif.) defensive end Greg Townsend is still favoring USC, but he's also considering TCU, Oregon, Alabama, Washington, Miami and UCLA, and he plans to camp at USC and UCLA this summer.

Westlake Village (Calif.) receiver Blair Holliday has offers from Boise State, Colorado State, San Diego State, Cal Poly and Northern Arizona.  He's also getting strong interest from Stanford, Oregon State and UCLA, and he'll camp in Westwood and Palo Alto this summer.

Long Beach (Calif.) Poly outside linebacker Corey Waller had the whole Pac-10 at the Poly campus this spring to check him out.  He's got offers from Washington and Idaho, but anticipates more offers coming in.  Waller plays defensive end for Poly, but has been working at linebacker, where most schools want him to play, and they could offer down the line.  Those schools include USC, Oregon, Boise State, Cal and UCLA, and Waller plans to camp at USC and UCLA.

Encino (Calif.) Crespi receiver Devin Lucien has added offers in the last couple of days from San Diego State and New Mexico State and they join offers from Oregon State, Illinois, Tulsa, Colorado, Air Force and Iowa State.  Lucien will camp at UCLA, Cal, Boise State, Colorado and Oregon State.
