Vote: Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area Athlete of the Year

Here are the top 21 finalists for the Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area Athlete of the Year. We intended to pick 20, but there was a tie so we decided to list 21. Watch this Sunday at 4:30 p.m. on KRON TV, Channel 4 in San Francisco to see which 18 received the most votes and will be moving on and which three have to be deleted from the list.

We are no longer accepting names of who should be nominated. It's time to vote, and in true Survivor-style fashion, the three athletes with the lowest vote totals for this week will be eliminated on our show on Sunday. The top 18 will advance to the following week and two more will then be eliminated. This elimination -- two each week -- will continue until we reach the name of the winner.

People need to vote every week as all vote totals will start from scratch. Type in the last name of the athlete you are voting for and send to:

We're not looking for details and reasons why your favorite athlete should win. We're looking for votes, so keep your e-mails to one word or one sentence.
