Over the past three years one of the top defenders in Colorado has been Mountain Range DE/OLB James Kelly. Due to his work this past season the 6-4 218 pound senior was named the Front Range League's defensive MVP.
The results of Kelly's productive defensive career are now bearing fruit with increased interest as well as verbal offers. As of now Kelly reports offers from DII schools CSU-Pueblo and Nebraska-Kearney. Also, Princeton has verbally offered as well. The Princeton offer comes as little surprise due to Kelly's strong academic work. Kelly holds a 3.8 GPA in college prep courses and he scored an impressive 29 on the ACT. Kelly will formulate his opinion on a college choice as he takes a series of visits to school in January. First up is Princeton January 6th-7th. That trip will be followed by visits to Nebraska-Kearney and CSU-Pueblo.
Along with the verbal offers, Kelly is also being contacted by South Dakota State, Army, Harvard and School of Mines. Extremely productive on the football field and very strong in the classroom, Kelly is a recruit that is very attractive for programs looking for a scholar athlete.
