Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colorado is having a great season going 9-0 thus far and is sure to get a high seed in the upcoming 4A playoffs. One player leading the way for the Mustangs is hard running senior Corry Williams. The 5-11 200 pound back is a banger with the ability to take the ball long. Along with his no nonsense running style, Williams is also a very good receiver out of the backfield.
Now over the 1,200 yard mark, Williams is averaging nine plus yards a carry and has scored 20 times on the ground. This goes along with 13 catches and four scores. This past weekend, against Rampart, Williams had his best game of the season rushing for 223 yards and four scores on 11 carries. Williams also added a touchdown catch. With one more game before playoffs, Williams will add to these impressive numbers.
Williams' skill set has not only powered Ponderosa but it has also gained the back DI attention. This weekend Williams made a visit to Wyoming as the Cowboys hosted Boise State. A top wrestler in the state of Colorado, Williams is a tough kid, but if, in college, he lifted the entire offseason, it would be easy to see the hard charging back at 220 pounds. Add in 4.5 speed and you see why DIs are interested.
