Cecil Putting In the Work

While working both sides of the line on the way to helping his team to a state title, 2014 Silver Creek performer Levi Cecil established himself as one of Colorado's top linemen

Over the past few years Silver Creek football has been known for its wide open offense, but this season the Raptors brought home the 3A state title based on a stingy defense that allowed only 169 points for the season.

One of the foundations of the stout Silver Creek defense was lineman Levi Cecil. The 6-4 255 pound Cecil registered 85 total tackles, with 7.5 for losses. A complete performer, the All-State selection lines up as a defensive tackle and defensive end. On offense, Cecil is a very effective and powerful blocker. Defensively, Cecil plays with good pad level and excels at getting off blocks to make plays. A player after a coach's heart, Cecil says his strengths are, "playing with passion and taking on the run."

Last month Cecil attended Junior Day at Colorado State and he reports he is in contact with Northern Colorado. At the next level Cecil hopes to play defensive tackle, but is willing to play defensive end or offensive line.

This offseason, in preparation to defend the Raptor's state title, Cecil is working out with his team to improve on upper body strength and overall speed. To put his game on display Cecil plans on attending the camps of in state colleges as well as attending the NUC combine.
