Hog History

For the 17th year some of Colorado's top linemen competed in the annual Hog Olympics.

For nearly 20 years Heritage High School has, under the guidance of long time line coach Ray Barron, hosted the Hog Olympics. During that time many of the alumni of the Heritage Hog Olympics have gone on to play major college ball with some even moving on to the NFL.

This year teams of hogs from Columbine, Arvada West, Dakota Ridge, Heritage, Ponderosa, Chaparral, and Douglas County competed for the coveted Hog Olympic title. After the grunts and groans associated with the tire toss, bench competition, truck pull, tug of war and many more Arvada West emerged with the 2013 title. The Wildcats, averaging over 250 pounds per man were paced by senior defensive
tackle Keenan Leary who hit 32 reps on the 185 pound bench and tossed the tire

Among the highlights was an all time tire toss of 42'1 by Dakota Ridge senior Brant Seeley.Currently on the PrepColorado message board this year's results are posted along with the records and totals from the past 17 years.
