Phenoms Week 6

This week running backs from across Colorado ran wild as multiple players posted 200 yard rush games.

Prairie View, currently 4-2, is on a four game winning streak and much of this can be attributed to the play of junior running back R.J. Ramirez. This week in a 41-22 win over Westminster the explosive runner rushed for 223 yards and two scores.

After being upset last weekend Silver Creek turned things around with a 63-25 win over Northridge. The star of the game for the Raptors was receiver Eric Machmuller who scored on receptions of 43, 30 and 45 yards. Machmuller, who hit the trifecta in scoring methods also, had a 72 yard run and a 93 yard kickoff return.

Junior LB/RB Drue Harris rushed for three TDs as Fountain-Fort Carson, in a must win, defeated Legend 40-21.

Senior RB Aaric Witt of Eaglecrest averaged over 20 yards a carry on the way to 162 total yards as Eaglecrest handled Smoky Hill 53-28.

Zach Young of Doherty, who has rushed for over 200 yards in five games this season, posted his best performance Friday night with 282 yards and three scores in a 53-28 win over Rock Canyon. Thus far, Young has 1,354 rush yards and 22 touchdowns.

Junior QB Nathan Spinuzzi of Pueblo South flirted with perfection in a 56-20 win over Pueblo Centennial throwing for 218 yards and two scores and rushing for 137 yards and three scores.

Junior Joshua Rhead had 177 yards and two scores on 11 carries as Rocky Mountain blanked Fossil Ridge.

Banger Gabe Gillespie had another three touchdown game as Mountain Range defeated Fort Collins 30-0.

Bernard McDondle rushed for over 280 yards and had six TDs as Columbine out scored Chatfield 50-43.

David Logan of Durango, an out of state transfer, scored the final TD and the Demons converted the extra point. Logan, the surprise of the night, had four scores and over 200 yards rushing against one of 5As best squads in the 34-33 win.

In a loss to Fairview Arvada West RB Claude Neloms rushed for over 240 yards.
