FCS Offer for Grand Junction RB

Experienced and productive 2014 Grand Junction running back Austin Lewis picks up his first offer.

This past weekend had its ups and downs for Austin Lewis who, due to a high ankle sprain, could not play as his team was upset by Durango High School. From the positive side Lewis took a visit Drake University for their homecoming and came away with an offer. Lewis attended Drake's camp this summer and they have remained on his radar. Lewis received the offer after spending an hour talking to Drake Head Coach Chris Creighton. Lewis, a strong student, is interested in Drake for their football program as well their majors in Astronomy and Physics. Due to the combination of academics and athletics Lewis is "very serious" about the Drake offer.

Along with Drake Lewis is receiving interest from Valparaiso, Butler, Pomona, Johns Hopkins, Wooster, Rhodes, Tufts, Colorado a School of Mines and Colorado Mesa. Also, Montana State, Stetson and Northern Arizona have made inquiries.

Lewis, who currently has 987 rush yards, should, after an upcoming bye week, be healthy for Grand Junction's next game and will help the Tigers get back to winning.
