Mullen OL Opts Ivy

2014 Mullen offensive lineman Reid Stables will play his college ball in the Ivy League.

Last week was a big week for Mullen football as a young Mustang squad, in a 40-34 shoot out, defeated Chatfield. Also, offensive lineman and Mullen elder statesman Reid Stables made the decision to play his college football at Columbia.

The 6-3 290 pound Stables lines up at tackle for Mullen but at the college level a move inside most likely will take place, potentially as a center. A very strong student with a 4.4 GPA Stables was a fit for the Ivy League. This past summer Stables made trips to not only Columbia, but also Harvard, Cornell and Yale. Regarding his decision to attend and play at Columbia Stables said, "I loved it when visited earlier this summer. The University is an environment I know I will be challenged in but I also know that I am well prepared."

Previous to making his decision to attend Columbia, Stables was getting interest from Vanderbilt and Boise State and he held an offer from the University of San Diego.
