2014 Cherokee Trail defender Jacob Martin, one of Colorado's best, reports that he has received a new offer. According to Martin the New Mexico State Aggies are now in the fold. The 6-3 225 pound defensive lineman had a strong senior season posting 5.5 sacks, six hurries and eight TFLs for his 10-3 Cougars.
Along with the New Mexico State offer Martin holds offers from Colorado State, San Jose State, Montana State, Montana and Idaho. Cherokee Trail, which has sent multiple players to DI schools over the past few years, has seen numerous college coaches in the halls of late. Right now Martin has scheduled official visits to New Mexico State and Colorado State.
Despite playing on the defensive line for Cherokee Trail, Martin projects as an outside linebacker at the college level due to his strong athleticism and high motor. Further, Martin's time as a defensive lineman should allow him to stay on the field in multiple defensive fronts.
