With LOI day getting closer recruiting heats up for the Colorado football class of 2014.

With National Letter of Intent Day quickly approaching as well as the wrap up of the college football regular season recruiting heats up as more and more Colorado football athletes focus on their recruiting decision.

BYU has taken a trip to Overland to check out the numerous Trailblazer athletes. Linebacker Tre Thomas hopes to visit CSU in early January. Thomas' teammate AJ Roper reports he is hearing from Northern Colorado, Mesa Community College in Arizona, South Dakota School of Mines and Washburn.

H-back Theron Verna of Grand Junction currently holds offers from Colorado Mesa, CSU-Pueblo, Northern Colorado and the University of San Diego. Of this group Verna is looking at Mesa, San Diego and Northern Colorado for his visits.

Talented Denver South DB Shun Johnson, a rangy 6-1 athletic corner, has flipped his commit from New Mexico State to Colorado State.

Devil's Digest of the network reported that Falcon athlete Kalen Ballage has opted to play college ball at Arizona State. Following up on that report the Colorado Springs Gazette cites Ballage's coach Terry Poirier "heard through the grapevine" that Ballage was committing to Arizona State. This is the second top recruit ASU has pulled from Colorado, recently ThunderRidge offensive lineman Sam Jones verballed to the SunDevils.

Linebacker Shawn Berry of Chatfield High School will take a visit to the University of Hawaii. Berry, a productive 6-3 215 pound inside backer, holds no DI offers but is getting looks from multiple programs and has a preferred walk on invite at the University of Oregon.
