Recruiting News and Notes

Football recruiting news from across the state of Colorado.

2015 Chatfield QB Kyle Winkler gained a late invitation to attend Colorado Jr Day this past weekend. Excited about his time in Boulder touring the football facilities, the campus and taking an early look at the new football facility plans. Winkler referenced how friendly the staff was and getting the chance to go over the Buff scheme with QB coach Brian Lindgren.

2015 Cherry Creek speedster Milo Hall is reporting that USC has stated showing some interest. Hall averaged over eight yards a carry last season on the way to 1,400 rush yards while sharing touches with UCLA commit Nathan Starks. Colorado, Colorado State, UCLA and Missouri are also giving looks to Hall.

Prairie View tight end Zach Peterson who averaged over 18 yards a catch on limited catches in a run heavy offense. Due to the scheme, the 6-3 225 pound Peterson is a very good blocker. Also a great student, Peterson is gaining Ivy interest. Harvard has been in contact while Cornell is in constant contact.

Quick Takes

Recently watched film of Bear Creek 2015 offensive tackle Tony Bello. The 6-4 290 pounder should be on the radar of DIs. Scout's Southwest recruiting analyst and offensive line guru Jason Jewell likes Bello's feet and get off. Bello will need to get stronger in preparation for his potential move to the inside of the offensive line at the college level.

Also watched film of Rangeview DE/OLB Jaelon Wright. Playing up or with his hand on the ground, Wright can get after the passer. He has a good first step and great motor and although undersized, he is strong and uses his hands well. Most impressive is Wright's ability to finish plays especially in space. This is important in that the 6-1 200 pound Wright will have to move to outside backer at the next level. Wright can rush the passer and play the run, but I would like to see how he does in coverage.
