Right now 2015 Denver East athlete Jordan Willis is focused on helping his 19-4 basketball squad pick up a first round playoff win this weekend in the state basketball tournament. Once basketball finishes, in what Willis hopes is a long run to the title, he will focus on football in preparation for this fall's campaign.
Topping out at 6-5 and weighing 197 pounds, Willis lined up as a receiver in multiple spots for his East squad bringing in 24 catches as the Angels struggled during a 3-7 season. Running a 4.7 forty, Willis is no burner, but he is good after the catch and has the tremendous advantage of his very long 6-5 frame.
Willis' skills and size have not gone unnoticed and the big receiver is gaining consistent DI attention from Colorado, Colorado State, Wyoming, Nebraska, Oregon and Virginia. Willis has also heard from Oklahoma State, San Diego State, New Mexico, New Mexico State and Arizona State.
Due to his basketball schedule Willis has not made any Jr. Days but he plans on camping at Colorado, Colorado State, Wyoming, Oregon and Arizona State.
During April and May Willis will put his game on display as he competes in multiple IMG 7 on 7 events. Although Willis does not hold an offer, his size, length and skill will intrigue colleges, as such, strong camp performances could potentially bring a first offer this spring or early summer.
