Much can happen in seven days, for 2015 Cherry Creek receiver Joseph Parker this means an initial offer and another strong camp performance. First, the Cherry Creek speedster gained an offer from Colorado State which he then followed up with a strong camp performance at Kansas State.
The 5-10 180 pound Parker impressed in Manhattan, showing the Wildcats his speed and technique. Regarding the K-State camp and a potential offer, Parker said, "We discussed an offer and they talked it over at their coaches' meeting. They said they would be in touch and told me to keep on with them because I'm really high on their board."
Parker, whose profile has risen since the Colorado State offer, has another busy week scheduled. Tuesday, Parker has tentative plans to head to Wyoming followed by the Nike SPARQ combine in Utah.
As is often the case, offers come in sets and now that Parker has one offer, more could soon be on the way. Fast, with big play ability, Parker is also surprisingly adept at catching across the middle and is a threat in the short pass and screen game. During this camp season, a consistent with Parker has been his feet and ability to run strong routes.
Beyond his skills as a receiver, Parker is a deadly punt returner. Using his 4.4 speed, Parker had a long of 64 yards and averaged over 16 yards per return. Most likely by the end of the summer, if not sooner, Parker will add to his offer sheet.
