With the first full slate of the season, lets’ take a look at who made the plays in what will be a very interesting season in Colorado high school football.
Elway Tubbs threw four TD passes as Vista Ridge beat Northglenn 54-0.
Lutheran needed every bit of its three headed offensive monster to hold off Lutheran South Academy of Houston in a 56-55 overtime track meet. Senior running back Jamil Bond had 184 rush yards and four scores. Receiver Josh Clausen posted 214 reception yards and a score while QB James Willis had 238 passing yards and rushed for the winning TD.
Cherokee Trail rolled to a 35-7 win over ThunderRidge paced by Izaiah Lottie’s 144 rush yards and two scores.
Rocky Mountain kicker and CU commit Alex Kinney hit on a 56 yard field goal in the Lobos win this week.
Canon City sophomore QB Luke Nethercot threw three TD passes leading his Tigers to a 41-13 win over Colorado Springs Mesa Ridge.
Greeley West RB Alex Delacroix rushed for over 230 yards and scored three times. Delacroix added an interception on defense as his squad defeated Northridge 49-35.
Ryan Younggreen of Holy Family scored four times in win over Mountain View.
Centaurus RB Matt Buchler had 204 rush yards in a win over Englewood.
Doherty RB TaQuan Baker had 220 yards and three scores in a win over Palmer.
Thursday night Brian Dawkins of Valor was impressive with four pass breakups in a tight game against Pomona.
Rangeview outside backer Jaelon Wright caused a fumble and also returned a fumble for a score Thursday as Rangeview won 26-22 against Westminster.
