There are few teams in the state of Colorado that are playing as well as Lutheran of Parker, Colorado. Key to the 3-0 start is the play of seniors James Willis, Jamil Bond and Josh Clausen. Quarterback Willis is throwing for 235 yards a game, Bond, a running back, has rushed for over 300 yards, while Clausen is averaging 24 yards a reception.
The 6-4 200 pound Clausen is a matchup nightmare due to his combination of size and surprising speed. For a big kid that dominates opponents physically, Clausen has very soft hands and is a good route runner. Beyond the field, Clausen has numerous intangibles including great grades, a strong work ethic and tremendous leadership. Clausen confirms his team first view stating when complemented about his impressive start to the season, “couldn't have done it without the rest of my team.”
Individually, Clausen attributes early success to, “all the offseason work, a lot of camps and running track definitely helped increase my speed.” Specifically Clausen hit camps at Minnesota and Wyoming. Currently Clausen holds an offer from Northern Colorado and is hearing from Columbia. Clausen also feels Wyoming is close to making an offer.
As the season continues there is little doubt Clausen will put up big numbers, as he does offers will follow for this big receiver.
