Few blockers in the state of Colorado are more effective than Pine Creek tackle Parker Hammond. A key component to the Pine Creek run game that has pushed the Eagles to 10-0 record as they defend their 4A title, Hammond has drawn attention, gaining offers from Northern Colorado, Air Force and the University of San Diego.
Earlier today on the eve of Pine Creek’s first round playoff game against Ponderosa, Hammond announced he will play his college football at Air Force. The 6-4 240 pound Hammond will, most likely, play tackle for the Falcons.
Regarding his commit Hammond told PrepColorado, “Honestly I just did not think any school could offer me what Air Force could. Between academics, football and being able to serve my country. It was something I felt I needed to do.”
Commenting on what he brings to the Air Force program Hammond says, “I know I am someone who is going to be 100% invested in the program, my team and the school itself. At Air Force it is more than just football, it is a commitment to serve.”
With his verbal out of the way Hammond can put all his focus on tomorrow’s game against Ponderosa. Pine Creek behind Hammond and a solid offensive line has rushed for nearly 3,000 yards this season paced in yards by Josh Odom. If the Eagles can continue to run the ball that successfully another 4A title could be in the near future.
