2017 Glenwood Springs quarterback Dante Sparaco grew up this year, leading his team to a winning season and playoff berth while posting very strong individual numbers. For the season Sparaco had 2,500 total yards and 21 scores. 970 of Sparaco’s yards came on the ground as the big sophomore averaged nearly six yards a carry. Potentially not shaving yet, Sparaco is a man child at a well-built 6-4 230 pounds. The youngster’s combination of size and athleticism has already garnered DI attention for the QB.
Film review shows maturation as Sparaco is better in the pocket, has better feet and a more consistent delivery. Over the next two seasons, as his ability as a passer improves, Sparaco will only become an even bigger offensive threat.
As he did last year, Sparaco again has a very busy offseason planned. Today Sparaco attended the Colorado State game watching the Rams defeat New Mexico to move to 10-1 on the season. Sparaco, who holds an offer from the Rams, says about the visit, “It was great as always! It is so great to see them succeed like this. Great win for them this afternoon.”
Beyond Colorado State, Sparaco will attend the U.S. Army All-American Combine on New Year’s Day. Sparaco also hopes to hit Notre Dame, Stanford, Oregon State and hopefully one or two SEC schools this spring.
