No player in the state of Colorado had a better season than 2016 Pine Creek athlete Jo Jo Domann. The 6-0 205 pound” jack of all trades” made plays all over the field on both sides of the ball helping his Colorado Springs squad win its second straight 4A state title. Taking notice were the Colorado Buffaloes, who today offered Domann his first of what will be multiple scholarship offers.
Domann had 49 receptions, ten that went for scores. On limited rushes, Domann averaged over 10 yards a carry and scored once. Defensively, Domann ruled the field, making a claim as Colorado’s best defender. Working as a hybrid S/OLB, Domann posted 61 tackles, 6.5 of which were for losses. Domann also registered seven interceptions and 10 passes defended. Domann scored twice on defense returning both an interception and recovered fumble for six.
Beyond the gaudy numbers, Domann’s plays were timely, as the versatile athlete consistently had a knack for the big play. Domann is a tweener, not as big as a traditional backer and not as fast as a free safety, Domann’s versatility and ability to cover make him a strong candidate to play as an outside backer in college. Domann’s greatest attribute is that he is a football player with a very strong understanding of the game, often anticipating where the play is going prior to it happening.
