Regis Defender Stays In State

Regis Jesuit defensive tackle Eddie Gonzales will keep his game close to home.

Eddie Gonzales of Regis is reporting he will play his college football at Northern Colorado.  The 6-3 280 pound Gonzales has been a key for the Raider defense over the past two seasons.  A high motor defender, Gonzales can take on the double team, chase plays down the line and apply pressure from the interior.

Gonzales, who also had offers from South Dakota, Idaho State, CSU-Pueblo and Washburn opted for Northern Colorado due to, “The proximity to my home, but mostly the coaching staff.  They are some of the most genuine guys and they can relate to me.”

Looking at his game and what he brings to the Northern Colorado program Gonzales says, “I’m bringing my dedication, discipline and work ethic up to Greeley with me; but I believe my football IQ will help me the most playing college ball.”

In preparation for college ball Gonzales is aware of the “physical jump, getting bigger, faster and stronger.”  Gonzales is a great get for Northern Colorado who has the ability to be a long time contributor for the Bears.
