As reported numerous times, the class of 2017 of Colorado football talent will be one of the most recruited in recent Colorado history. One of the players already garnering offers and recruiting attention is Denver Mullen safety Christian Cumber.
The 6’0 180 pound defender already holds two offers, both in state, with Colorado and Colorado State on board. Cumber says he has no other offers, but he hopes, “to receive a few more.” In an attempt to gain more offers Cumber will compete this spring at the National Underclassmen Combine, Nike Opening and the All Poly Camp. Cumber is hoping to camp at UCLA.
Review of Cumber’s game reveals a player that has good instincts in coverage and can flips his hips smoothly and change direction cover. Further, Cumber closes quickly, can tackle in the open field and is physical. A free safety at the next level, Cumber is nonetheless able to cover the slot and also play near the line of scrimmage. Breaking down his own game Cumber says, “There is always room for improvement but I think I need my biggest area of improvement would be judging the ball in the Air more accurately.”
Cumber, already holding two offers, will add to his offer sheet this offseason as he hits the camp and combine circuit.
