Wolverines On 2017 OL

Pomona junior Jake Moretti adds to growing list of offers

Michigan under Jim Harbaugh has reached out and offered two of the best prospects in the Colorado prep class of 2017. First, the Wolverines made an offer to Valor Christian quarterback Dylan McCaffrey. Now Michigan has offered Pomona offensive tackle Jake Moretti. Moretti, already a national level recruit, holds offers from Colorado State, Colorado, Miami and San Diego State.

Moretti says the offer came from Michigan offensive line coach and offensive coordinator Tim Drevno. As a college and NFL coach Harbaugh is known for fostering offensive linemen for his hardnosed run game and the rugged, yet athletic Moretti, a 6-5 275 pound sophomore fits the mold. Drevno, who has been with Harbaugh on college and pro staffs was the offensive line coach for the 49ers during Harbuagh's tenure. Discussing Harbaugh and Michigan Moretti says, "Coach Harbaugh seems to win wherever he goes." Despite all the attention Moretti is grounded and focused on his Pomona High School squad. This offseason Moretti says he is, "working on everything to get better." Moretti also goes on to say, "I would not be in this position without my coaches and teammates." Great stuff for a youngster!

The Michigan offer is big and will most likely lead to more offers for Moretti. Beyond his growing offer sheet Moretti says he is hearing from Oregon, Oklahoma, UCLA and Florida.
