Colorado’s 2017 recruiting class is very talented with multiple athletes already holding Power 5 offers. One such player is Mullen running back Marcus McElroy. The running back has the potential to be an every down back at the college level with the ability to run between the tackles and off the edge as well as catch the ball and block.
The 6-1 200 pounder holds in state offers from Colorado and Colorado State and is gaining more attention. This spring McElroy is working hard on the Mullen track team, competing in the sprints, to improve his speed this fall for football. The hard work on the track as well as his great size and versatile play will lead to more offers. Right now, beyond Colorado and Colorado State, McElroy is hearing from Northwestern and has received introductory mail from Florida State.
This past season McElroy averaged right at eight yards a carry on the way to over 900 rush yards. McElroy added 16 receptions at 20 yards per reception. McElroy is also a threat as a return man. These numbers, as well as his great upside, make McElroy a prospect who will gain double digit offers by his senior season.
