Last season, on the road to the 5A state title game, the Valor Christian offense, led by QB Dylan McCaffrey spread the ball around to multiple receivers, five of whom caught 20 balls or more. The leading returnee at receiver is 2016 prospect Ben Waters. The 6-1 195 pounder led averaged over 23 yards per reception while leading the Eagles in touchdown catches.
Waters is a consistent performer who has good size and surprising speed. Further, the receiver is versatile lining up in multiple spots showing the ability to catch in traffic and stretch the field. This upcoming season, working as the main target for Dylan McCaffrey, Waters should have a monster 2015 campaign. To improve his game Waters in running track this spring competing in the 100, 200 and 400 meters, posting PRs of 48.3 in the 400 and 22.3 in the 200.
Waters has yet to gain a first offer but he reports he is hearing from North Dakota State, Wyoming, Montana, Army and Yale. Waters hopes to hit a couple of camps this summer. Of these schools Waters feels Montana and Army are showing the most interest.
