Cherry Creek linebacker Santino Marchiol, another of the talented members of the Colorado class of 2017, made a visit to Northwestern this weekend. The 6-3 225 pound backer is already a complete player, comfortable against the run and solid in coverage. Marchiol currently holds offers from Colorado State and Hawaii.
Denver South offensive tackle Terriek Roberts visited the University of Kansas last week and enjoyed the experience. The big tackle with tremendous upside holds offers from Kansas, Colorado State, Nevada, Utah State and Wyoming.
Receiver Ammon Johnson did very well at FBU camp in Arizona, being picked as one of the top receivers there. The 6-4 Johnson, who will play at Cherry Creek next season, brings big play potential for Creek QB Joe Caplis and the defending state champs.
2017 Mullen running back Marcus McElroy was on the west coast this weekend taking a visit to UCLA. The 6-0 200 pound back has been concentrating on track this offseason to improve his speed in preparation for next football season.
Because of the talent in Colorado from the 2016 and 2017 classes some players may not be getting the looks they deserve. One such player is 2016 ThunderRidge offensive tackle Sean Russo. This is a giant kid at 6-6 290. Russo is not the most athletic performer and his current right tackle spot is where he will play in college, but he is coached up, fundamentally sound and willing to go find defenders at the next level of the defense. Right now Russo is hitting the combine circle and is starting to gain some college interest.
