It took a while, but colleges have in the past week, started to recognize and reward the talents of 2016 Fort Morgan defensive lineman Toby McBride. Last week McBride picked up his first offer, coming from the Air Force Academy. This past weekend, while camping at Wyoming, McBride gained his second offer as the Cowboys got on board.
McBride, a productive two way player for Fort Morgan, who plays fullback and defensive line, has both Air Force and Wyoming looking at him for the defensive line. McBride has the size to play on the line at the next level, standing 6-3 and weighing right at 235. Further, McBride’s understanding of leverage and explosiveness is small spaces, due to his background in wrestling, make him a great defensive line candidate. The two time wrestling state champ has a frame to carry weight beyond his 235 pounds and could eventually drop inside from his current defensive end position giving him and his future defensive front flexibility.
In July, McBride will hit a two day camp at Colorado State, if current trends continue and McBride again impresses, a third Mountain West offer could be coming for this intriguing defensive line prospect that is currently on the rise.
