With great size to go with on field production it was only a matter of time before 2016 Valor Christian receiver Ben Waters picked up a DI offer. Yesterday, while camping at Air Force, the Falcons got on board with the 6-1 receiver who averaged over 20 yards per reception last season.
Waters had great things to say about Air Force stating, “I loved them. They were honest with what the academy was and its difficulties but also its perks. Also a great group of football coaches!” Regarding the commitment to the military and the rigors of an Academy Waters said, “I have never really thought about it until now but after seeing what they have to offer it is definitely something I will consider.”
Now holding offers from Colorado School of Mines and Air Force, academically strong colleges are very interested in Waters athletically and academically and he reports Army and Yale have been in contact. Also, Waters is hearing from Wyoming, Colorado State, North Dakota State, Utah State, Colorado, North Dakota, Montana and San Diego State.
This summer, Waters, who runs a 4.58 forty, has continued to work on his speed, field vision and hands. With the departure of multiple playmakers from Valor’s 2014 state runner up squad, more of the offensive load will fall on Water’s shoulders. Working with 2017 quarterback Dylan McCaffrey, Waters should make plenty of plays helping Valor get wins and gaining himself more offers.
