Phenoms Week 4

Colorado's best continue to post Ws fueled by the state's best players.

TJ Jones continues his very strong season putting up six touchdowns and 277 yards rushing as Boulder defeated Prairie View.

In a blowout victory over Frederick, Holy Family’s Chris Helbig threw for five scores and 376 yards.  Thus far Helbig has 22 touchdown passes against only 3 interceptions.

Vista Ridge, now 4-0, is paced by quarterback Elway Tubbs, who has thrown for over 1,200 yards already this season.  This past weekend, in the win over Palmer Ridge, Tubbs threw for three scores.  Right now the senior has 16 scores to two interceptions. 

Thursday Junior athlete Mikey Griebel scored twice, a run and a pass reception, each over 50 yards, as Columbine handled Ralston Valley 21-7.  Also, shout to the Columbine defense which has allowed only 14 total points this season.

In a win over Pueblo County, senior D’Evelyn QB Owen Burke threw for 496 yards and three scores. 

George Washington junior QB Javian Byrd threw for 309 yards and three scores in a win over Thomas Jefferson.

Andre Renteria, junior from Bear Creek, ran wild Friday in a win over Chatfield, with 248 yards and three scores.

Junior Mountain Vista quarterback Judd Erickson posted big number in a dominating win over Douglas County Friday.  Erickson had 384 pass yards and five touchdowns in the 48-14 victory. 

Grand Junction Central junior QB EJ Barrera had his best game of the year throwing for nearly 300 yards with three TDs in a win over Glenwood Springs 46-6.

Senior Tre’vaughn Gonzales rushed for 205 yards and two scores helping keep Greeley West unbeaten with a victory over Mountain View.

Mullen’s Marcus McElroy rushed for two scores and caught three TD passes as his Mustangs dominated Arvada West 55-14 this weekend. 

Senior RB Carlson Ortega or Roosevelt averaged nearly 18 yards a carry on the way to 210 yards as his Roughriders defeated Northridge 56-12.

Senior QB Daniel Martin of Pueblo East had over 300 yards of offense and four scores in a victory over Discovery Canyon.

Delta’s Jonny Ponce returned from injury with a 157 yard three touchdown performance in a win over Steamboat Springs.

Cale Powers of Air Academy had well over 400 yards of total offense in a victory over Sand Creek.

Dylan Reifeis of Evergreen had his best game of the season throwing for three scores in a 33-6 win over Green Mountain.
