Ready for Playoffs!

Cherry Creek senior Javier Craft was big Friday as his Bruins rebounded from a two game losing streak defeating Eaglecrest 42-7.  The corner, who is gaining DI interest, had two pick six interceptions in the win.

Junior Dylan McCaffrey hit a scoring trifecta Friday night in a win against Grandview, helping Valor Christian secure the conference title.  McCaffrey threw two touchdown passes, rushed 58 yards for a touchdown and caught a touchdown pass on a trick play. In the loss Pomona junior running back Hayden Blubaugh rushed for two TDs. Every game this season Blubaugh has rushed for over 120 yards.

D’Evelyn senior signal caller Owen Burke threw five touchdown passes, leading his Jaguars to a 49-8 victory over Arvada.  For the season Burke has thrown 35 touchdowns with only nine interceptions.

The Discovery Canyon offensive line powered the Thunder offense as the team defeated Lewis-Palmer 40-7.  After a rough start to the season Discovery Canyon has won five straight.

Despite losing a tough one to Legacy, Fairview senior quarterback Thomas Creese had one of his best games of the season throwing for over 400 yards. Creese hit junior wideout Tommy Wakefield 13 times.

Senior quarterback Ty Murphy of Falcon threw for 112 yards and rushed for 127 yards as Falcon defeated Mesa Ridge Friday night. Also, senior RB Matt Bastion rushed for 200 yards and scored five times.

In potentially the most impressive performance of the weekend Rifle senior quarterback Tyler Bosshardt, rushed for 306 yards and five scores, all on only nine carries!  The performance was in a win over Glenwood Springs.

Mikey Griebel rushed for 165 yards on six carries as Columbine finished the regular season unbeaten with a victory over Lakewood.

Sophomore Steve Brock rushed for 200 yards and scored twice, leading Pueblo South over Pueblo West.

Congrats to Head Coach Dylan Hollingsworth and his Niwot team.  A 34-7 win over Frederick broke Niwot’s 24 game losing streak. 

Prayers and thoughts to Holy Family QB Chris Helbig.  The player of the year candidate, who was rewriting the school and state record book, went down with a season ending knee injury in a victory against Mead.  Good luck Chris, we are pulling for you.
