JoJo Domann got quite a show on his official visit to Lincoln yesterday as the Huskers pulled off a miracle finish coming from behind late to upset unbeaten #7 ranked Michigan State. Domann also had the opportunity to catch up with former teammate and Husker freshman Avery Anderson. Domann, again having a monster season on both sides of the ball as his Colorado Springs Pine Creek squad attempts to win another 4A state title, is making plays as a receiver, runner and defender.
A three year starter, Domann is the leader of the experienced talented champs, looking at his team Domann says, “I think we use the confidence we have to help us perform better. We build on our successes and work on our flaws. We don't allow ourselves to be complacent.”
Pine Creek, now the winner of 34 straight games, continues to get contributions from the core of players that have paced their success. Senior DE/OLB Jack Wibbels, again is dominating off the edge having registered 17 sacks and three recovered fumbles this season. Along with Wibbels, senior linebacker Nathan Leithead is all over the place with 81 tackles, three interceptions, two fumbles caused and two fumbles recovered.
Beyond the experienced core, new playmakers are stepping up for the defending champs. First year starting quarterback Brock Domann is having a very solid season throwing for 19 scores against only five interceptions. On the ground, Domann is averaging seven yards a carry and has three scores.
Talking about playoffs and defending their title, Domann further states, “Our strengths are that we all our striving for the same goal, and understanding that we can get better every practice and every game so that were playing our best football in November and December.”
