Ayden Eberhardt leads Loveland to title game.

Top talents lead teams through playoffs.

Over the past four years Buena Vista quarterback Keegan Wentz has become a fixture in the Phenoms.  The 5-11 205 pound athlete fittingly capped a great high school career with a great final game, helping his Buena Vista squad bring home the 1A title.  It did not come easy for Wentz and crew, trailing 20-7 at the half against Paonia.  Wentz rushed for over 150 yards and two scores, threw a touchdown pass and had a pick six return to secure the 27-20 championship win.

Zane Phelps rushed for 130 yards and a score helping Bayfield finish the season unbeaten, winning the 2A title in a 28-20 win against Platte Valley.  For the season Phelps rushed for over 1,600 yards.

In 3A, Pueblo East defeated Fort Morgan behind the tough running of junior Bryson Torres.  The 190 pound Torres rushed for 150 yards and scored twice in the 28-7 victory.  On the other side of the bracket Roosevelt beat Delta 30-23, setting up a great 3A final.

In 4A, two previously unbeaten squads were beaten as Loveland upset defending champ Pine Creek and Windsor outlasted Longmont.  For Loveland senior quarterback Ayden Eberhardt continues his great play during playoffs, scoring twice against the always tough Pine Creek defense in a 26-14 win.  Over the past three weeks Eberhardt has contributed 10 TDs to the Loveland offense.    Hats off to the Windsor defense holding a very talented Longmont offense to 6 points.  In the win junior LB/RB Corte Tapia ran for a score and recovered a fumble for a score.

Pomona RB Cameron Gonzales had two scores in a tough 21-20 win over Columbine advancing the Panthers to the state title game.  On the other side of the bracket Ben Waters had seven catches helping Valor, again to the state title game, defeating defending champ Cherry Creek 20-10.
