2016 Overland High School safety Alijah Haliburton Opts for Wyoming

Haliburton Opts for Familiar Suitor

The University of Wyoming loves athletes from Overland High School.  In the past year the Cowboys have gained commitments from Kevin Prosser for football and Austin Conway in basketball.

Following the example of his former teammates, 2016 Overland safety Alijah Haliburton is reporting he has verbally committed to play his college football at the University of Wyoming.  Beyond

Haliburton, at 6-2, is super long and has the frame to eventually play at well over 200 pounds.  A long strider, Halliburton runs in the 4.5s and has the ability to cover a ton of space.  Further, the strong safety is equally comfortable playing two deep, man or working in the box against the run.

This past season, Haliburton was all over the field registering over 120 total tackles for his Overland team.  Haliburton also had two sacks an interception and eight passes defended.  In football Overland had a tough 3-7 season, but Haliburton knows how to win.  Haliburton was a key member of Overland’s 23-5 state championship team and will this season, again be a big part of the squad’s defense.

Beyond Wyoming, Haliburton held offers from South Dakota, Nevada, Northern Colorado and South Dakota State.
