2016 Cherry Creek receiver Ammon Johnson is reporting he has gained an offer from the Air Force Academy. Johnson says he has been in contact with Falcon defensive line coach Tim Cross since last spring.
Regarding the rigors of playing for Air Force and attending the Academy Johnson enthusiastically says, “There are so many upsides to going to the Academy and very little to no downside to going. It is a great opportunity that has opened up for me and we will see what happens.”
The big receiver has a key piece of the Cherry Creek offense this year as the Bruins made the semi-finals of playoffs. Looking at his game and areas he has improved Johnson says, “The main thing probably is growing my confidence some more and maturing more and learning so much. This coaching staff and my teammates taught me so much and I appreciate them a lot! The game became easier for me game by game and I can’t wait for the next level!”
Looking at a time frame for a commit Johnson says “I really don't know. I am just letting it sink in right now.” Whatever his decision, Johnson will bring to a college program great size and the willingness for hard work.
