It was only a matter of time before big schools took notice of the athletic talents of Deron Harrell. The multi-sport, multi-position athlete reports he has just received an offer from the Wisconsin Badgers.
Over the past few weeks more and more DI schools have honed in on the Denver East talent. At 6-3 180 pounds Harrell runs in the 4.4s and has the skills to play numerous positions. This past season for East, Harrell had a strong campaign playing quarterback for his Angels. Right now Harrell is a key player on the East basketball squad, scoring 16 points a game for one of the state’s top program. His skills on the hardwoods have also gained Harrell attention from college basketball programs.
Talking about Wisconsin and his athletic fit with the Badgers, Harrell says they are looking at him as a receiver or defensive back. Harrell’s 6-3 height combined with 4.4 speed as well as his inherent athleticism are rare even for Power 5 programs. With Wisconsin now on board there is little doubt other schools will make offers. The next two weeks should be very interesting for this very intriguing prospect.
