Marshall and Payton Cain commit to Colorado School of Mines.

Pace Quickens as Signing Day Approaches

As signing day rapidly approaches, athletes across the state of Colorado go on final visits, honing in on their impending commits.

One of the big pieces of news is the commit of Heritage lineman Marshall Cain to Colorado School of Mines followed quickly by his brother and line-mate Payton also opting for School of Mines.  Both Cains are polished linemen with great frames and better motors Mines is a great fit for the duo.  PrepColorado caught up with Payton who had this to say about Mines, “There was several factors. It's the offense I want to play in, the program I want to be a part of, and the school I want to go to.”  Regarding the interesting prospect of playing with his brother and the fact that they were recruited by many of the same programs, eventually opting for the same school Payton stated, “We tried to keep that separate, the opportunity at Mines was something we each considered individually.”  At Mines Payton will play offensive tackle and Marshall will play defensive line.

Mountain Range corner Elijah Gillespie, a very talented and under recruited cover that will fit nicely as a nickel in college, hit a visit to Western State this weekend.

2016 TE/LS Logan Paulsen of Legacy was in Laramie for a visit with the University of Wyoming this weekend.

During his visit this weekend 2016 Englewood defensive lineman Kyle Robideau gained an offer from Chadron State. This upcoming weekend Robideau will visit Adams State.  Robideau, who also holds offers LA Valley juco and Alabama prep, has preferred walk on offers from North Dakota and Fort Hays.

2016 ThunderRidge defensive end Rhett Hanson this weekend made his commit to the University of Nebraska-Kearney.

2016 Denver East free safety Elijah Cordero picked up an offer from DII Fort Hays this weekend.

2016 Valor Christian TE/HB Carson Cooper gained an offer from the University of Sioux Falls this weekend.

2016 linebacker Tim Daly of Regis reports he has committed to the University of St. Thomas.

Great to see DIs focusing on Denver East athlete Deron Harrell.  This weekend’s offer from Wisconsin that took place during Harrell’s official visit could create major interest for this special 6-3 athlete with 4.4 speed.

Javier Craft’s Northern Colorado offer could lead to more FCS and potentially mid-major offers for the very polished and productive 2016 Cherry Creek corner.
