Over the past few days Air Force has cleaned up on very good Colorado talent from the deep class of 2016. Columbine TE/DE Jon Cole as well as Palmer Ridge athletes Isaiah Sanders and George Silvanic reported earlier this week they will play for the Falcons and today Valor receiver Ben Waters made his verbal to the Academy.
Waters, who also held offers from multiple DII schools and Northern Colorado, says of Air Force, “I'm excited to get started! The opportunity that it presents after college, there is no school in the country that rivals it.”
Waters, a key piece of Valor’s success over his career and a top offensive threat during the Eagles championship run this season, caught 59 passes, 16 of which went for scores. At 6-1 205 pounds, Waters is a big wideout with surprising speed. These skills allow Waters to line up in multiple spots, go across the middle, stretch the field and block as he lines up as the Falcons Slot/Pitch Z.
Regarding getting ready for the college game Waters says “I would like to get quicker as well as improve my field vision. If I can do that I believe I can compete for some playing time.” As part of this prep Waters will run track this spring for Valor looking to add to his already solid speed. Waters, a good student and athlete is a great person and a perfect fit for Air Force.
