This past season a senior dominated Arapahoe class put together a very strong campaign as the Warriors went 10-1. As Arapahoe looks forward to next season one key player is 2018 offensive lineman Blake Carette who will anchor a very solid returning line. As a sophomore Carette garnered All-League honors blocking for a balanced offense that posted over 3,000 total yards.
At 6-3 261 pounds, Carette is a big sophomore with plenty of time to get a little taller and add good weight. Further, Carette is a multi-sport athlete also playing lacrosse. Scary to think about the big Carette coming down the field with a stick in his hand.
Beyond lacrosse, Carette is getting after it this offseason putting in time with Matt McChesney and the crew at Six Zero Strength. Key to improving his game Carette is focusing on honing his technique and getting stronger in his upper body.
It is very early in the recruiting process for the 2018 prospect, but talented, experienced linemen are a rare commodity so Carette will gain increasing attention over the next two seasons. One school giving an early look is the Colorado Buffaloes. Carette recently attended the Buffs’ Junior Day.
Carette, playing for Head Coach and former college and pro offensive lineman Mike Campbell, is in a great position to improve his craft not only for the benefit of Arapahoe but also in preparation for the college game.
