Windsor outside backer Corte Tapia made a trip to Air Force. Tapia is gaining an impressive offer sheet and will continue to pick up offers this spring and summer.
6-5 255 pound tackle Heston Paige of ThunderRidge hit Colorado State this weekend. Paige is a solid run blocker with a great frame. He looks to have great upside for the next level.
Interior offensive lineman Ryan Campbell of Smoky Hill made a visit to New Mexico State this weekend.
Thomas Jefferson tackling machine Donavaughn Baucom hit South Dakota this weekend. Baucom, a four year high school starter, is one of the most productive players in Colorado and is well worth a college look.
Fossil Ridge Sabercats Nick Edridge and Brady Russell headed down to CU Junior Invite Day. I watched Edridge multiple times last year and the 6-2 220 pounder always popped on film. I like how this kid gets downhill! Russell is a dual threat, playing defensive end and working as long snapper. At 6-3 240 pounds and with the ability to long snap, Russell should see offers.
Colorado QB guru and PrepColorado contributor Tim Jenkins weighed in on two Colorado quarterback prospects. Regarding Cherry Creek quarterback Alex Padilla, a 2019 prospect, Jenkins said, “After seeing his development from 7th grade to now, if he continues down the same path in development and keeps up his production for Coach Logan at Creek, He will be highly sought after by the best college football programs in America.” For my part, and I’m no QB guru I’m looking forward to watching Padilla at the helm of the Cherry Creek O.
Jenkins also talked about one of the hidden gems in Colorado, Canon City quarterback Luke Nethercot. Last season, Nethercot threw for over 2,200 yards with 23 TDs against only five interceptions. Jenkins weighs in on Nethercot saying, “The kid can really sling it! He is my Mitch Martin of this class being a small school guy who should get a couple offers. He is 6' 2" 175 pounds. Everything I saw on him I thought he was undersized but he must be listed wrong, he is big in person. He has a freaking canon for an arm.” Hopefully the RMAC schools take a look and FCS programs might make the trip.
