Hoping to cash in on the deep talent pool from the classes of 2017 and 2018, the Northern Colorado Bears were very busy this week making offers to multiple Colorado players.
Northern Colorado made an offer to Mullen defensive back Isiahia Banks. Banks, one of the state’s top defenders, had a productive week also picking up an offer from Montana State. The two offers give Banks a total of four, with Montana and Delaware State previously on board.
The Bears also offered Fossil Ridge duo Brady Russell and Nick Edridge. The offers are the first for each player. Russell, a 6-3 240 pound defensive end is also gaining some mid-major interest, with the likes of Wyoming taking a look. Russell adds the extra benefit of being a long snapper. Edridge is an impressive All-Conference linebacker, who at 6-3 220 pounds reports a 4.6 forty yard dash.
Banks, Russell and Edridge are members of the Class of 2017, but Northern Colorado is also taking a run at one of Colorado’s top 2018 football athletes, Trey McBride of Fort Morgan. McBride, who already holds an offer from Colorado State, is a very productive outside linebacker and a player who, over the next couple of seasons, will, have a very impressive offer sheet.
This proactive stance by the Bears is important as Montana and Montana State are going after all the very good players from the Colorado classes of 2017 and 2018.
