5A Top Ten: Week Seven

In the midst of a twenty game win streak, Columbine holds on to the #1 spot, while Mullen and Mountain Vista work hard to finish the regular season undefeated.

Three teams remain unbeaten and with only a few games left teams jockey for league titles and playoff position.

Columbine is in the midst of the toughest part of the their schedule and thus far it looks like there is no problem as they have easily dispatched Arvada West and Chatfield.  Look for a physical game as they take on Pomona this week.

The Mustangs continue to get it done, this past week posting a 41-3 win over Fairview.  Mullen finishes out the regular season with two games on the road against Boulder and Overland.

3.Mountain Vista

If they finish the regular season undefeated, Mountain Vista will have earned it as they travel to take on Douglas County and Heritage back to back.

4. Thomas Jefferson

The Spartans are for real!  If the keep focus and beat Fruita-Monument this week they finish the regular season undefeated and should pull a nice playoff spot.

5. Heritage

The young Eagles play with a lot of swagger and are currently on a six game run.  They have a shot at getting the league title if everything plays out right.

6. Legacy

If the Lightning take care of business this week and next they will have the Front Range crown as well as a solid playoff seed.

7. Bear Creek

Travel to Doherty this week and then finish the season with a big showdown against Columbine.  The Bears are a one point loss to Pomona from being unbeaten.

8.Douglas County

The Huskies will need to play more consistently if they want to get a big win this week as they host Mountain Vista.

The Wolves are playing good football at the right time having won four straight including last week's win over Cherry Creek.

10. Cherry Creek

The Bruins need to take care of business the next two weeks against Eaglecrest and Fairview to finish the season 7-2 and pull a solid spot in the playoffs.
