Jasper Talks Recruiting

DeAndre Jasper is one of south Florida's combination athletes, playing both receiver and defensive back. He's got the speed and measureables to play both positions at the next level. Jasper stands at 5'9'' and 180 pounds but is strong as an ox on the field. The Miami native finished his season slightly disappointed, but is already looking toward next season.

"I did ok, I could have done a lot better this season. The quarterback and I couldn't get into a good rhythm this season. I think I improved in my route running this season though, I've gotten better as a receiver," Jasper stated. "I'm working on selling my routes and working on my speed and my hands. I will also be part of the South Florida Express this summer too."

Jasper is hearing from the big three as well as a Big East school that's caught his eye. "I'm hearing from Florida, Central Florida, Texas Tech, Rutgers, Florida State, and Miami right now," he stated. "I haven't been on any trips yet, but I'm going to Rutgers in the summer. I'm pretty excited about it."

He's in no hurry to make a commitment, and is carefully sorting through which team will be best for him when the time comes.

"Academics are important, as is my relationship with my coaches. I'm not worried about how far away I go from home. I think I'll wait till awhile before making a decision though. I don't think I'm going to make any quick decisions," Jasper discussed.

He's continuing to improve in the classroom and is focused on finishing strong academically this spring.

"My grades are good, I have 2.9 GPA and I'm going to take the ACT this spring or summer," he finished.
