"I've gotten letters and phone calls from a lot of teams lately namely, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, USC, South Carolina, Tennessee, USF, Nebraska, University of Louisville, NC State, Georgia Tech Ole Miss, LSU, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Florida, Florida State, Syracuse, Duke, and FAU. I'm hoping for my first offer after what I did at the combine," Holmes revealed.
He says that Florida Atlantic is the closest to pulling the trigger, and since it's right in his back yard he's visited there a few times already.
"I've been talking with the running backs coach at FAU recently. He says he's looking forward to my senior year. I like the campus over there, so we'll just have to see what happens," he said. "I'm still looking for my first offer. I'd like to go to Miami, LSU, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, or Wisconsin."
He's already back at work after an impressive weekend at the combine with both team practices and his track schedule.
"I run track and I'm working out with my team a lot. I'm always trying to get faster. My goal was to get in the 4.3's and now that I got there I'm hungry for more. I want to get it even lower," Holmes proclaimed.
He had a stellar season last year, but is setting the bar even higher now that he's a senior and has one last shot at a title.
"I want to score 20 touchdowns or more and at least 1500 yards rushing, along with going back to the playoffs and winning it all this season. I finished last season with 1445 yards and 17 touchdowns, so with a little more hard work I should reach my goals," Holmes stated.
Holmes has plans on committing early so he can enroll next spring. He says he's been focused on getting cleared and continues to be focused this spring.
"I plan on enrolling early, so I'd like to commit early and get it over with. I'm taking the SAT next month and I'm focused on my grades so I'm cleared and that way I can commit when the right offer comes up," he stated. "I have a 3.2 and just took the ACT last weekend," he finished.
